Job Description

As Director, you’ll partner directly with the SVP, as well as with a broad range of internal colleagues, on supporting the executive leadership with strategic communication to help elevate our company’s story. The ideal candidate will proactively develop and implement programs and initiatives, partnerships, and activities that both educate and elevate diversity, inclusion, and equity as core values of Equinox.

The Opportunity:

  • Play a lead role in preparing, researching, and implementing integrated communications strategies derived from business priorities, in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities and mitigate risk to build and protect the corporate reputation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier business and financial and industry press
  • Produce compelling communications of all types
  • Provide senior, strategic communications counsel and support to the executive leadership team in responding to issues that may impact employees and corporate reputation
  • Work closely with the internal teams to deliver compelling and accurate information
  • Draft sensitive or business critical employee and member emails, memos, talking points and statements
  • Garner thoughtful and impactful stories in top-tier business press demonstrating Equinox’s value proposition and continued growth


  • Outstanding writing and editing skills
  • Ability to simplify the complex and strategically tailor communications depending on the audience/stakeholder
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in the field. Experience in media and entertainment is desirable but not essential

  • Interest and direct experience in diversity, equity and inclusion communication strategy is preferred
  • Proven aptitude to solve problems and adapt responsively and flexibly in a fast-paced ever-changing environment
  • Experience in devising, managing, and executing communications and project plans.
  • Proactive self-starter who can manage complex tasks and projects quickly with minimal supervision
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to protect brand/company reputation
